Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Rebekah. I am a wife to a very patient, loving man, mother to two beautiful children, pet owner, hopeless romantic, avid book reader! I love my family and my friends and nothing makes me happier then being with people I love!
Professionally I have been a Registered nurse for the last 20 years. I started my training at the good old Princess Alexandra Hospital, got to be a third year and failed my hospital exams! Twice!!! Not my proudest moment, but I have always been a rather determined person, so I found myself in Toowoomba getting a Bachelor of Nursing, excelling at university, and having an amazing time!
I moved to Brisbane and began working in the Peri-Operative Suites at St Andrew’s Hospital. It was during that time I began doing a lot of gynaecology, fertility and occular theatre work, with a dash of plastics thrown in. I loved it! Keeping this the abridged version, I worked at a couple of other hospitals in the operating theatres around Brisbane and even did a stint as the Occupation health and safety Nurse for Inghams Enterprises…yep, Inghams, chickens, love em! (believe me, I didn’t for a long time after working there!)
I kept going back and working within the Women’s health arena until after I had my children. It was at that point that I had been doing Night Duties at the Mater Mothers in the Operating theatres doing C Sections, when I felt there had to be more. So I dabbled in a little bit of Sales and Marketing (not very well) and decided, literally, I was going to buy a Spray Tanning Business. This was before Spray Tanning got as big as it is today and really all I did was make a lot of people very orange, but at lease it was a very even orange!
Word got out and my business grew, but, I found it still wan’t enough. So I decided to buy a laser machine. I felt that I should use my hard earned Nursing skills, in an area that I had always found really interesting within the operating theatres. However that wasn’t meant to be and I bought a Solera Opus IPL machine and began treating ladies with hair issues, which wasn’t just about the hair, but the other problems associated with it! I LOVED it, and realised I had fallen into an area of nursing that was not only going to continue to grow, but I could expand my skills and work as independantly as possible. It is an area I am passionate about.
I have since spoken at conferences on Hair Reduction Treatments, skin and photo-rejuvenation. I have trained clinics in the art of IPL and am constantly educating my clients in correct hair reduction techniques.
I opened Perfectly Smooth as a cosmetically orientated beauty clinic in January this year. My belief is that everybody deserves to be Perfectly Smooth! We work on the skin and on hair reduction treatments (waxing included). This has proven to be very popular. We offer clients NARL treatments which are spot fat reduction treatments and we have a vibration plate that is constantly being requested. We perform microdermabrasion and peels very successfully. Infact we do a lot of micro’s.
I will be using this blogspot to pass onto you, latest information in the industry. Great products that I personally love, and any relevant information that can make you feel and look younger! I am not sure how this will go, but I am excited to have taken the first step!
I hope you enjoy!
